The two most popular container sizes (outside dimensions) are 20-foot and 40-foot.

What are the different types of containers?

Please be aware that container specifications vary depending on the manufacturer; therefore, there may be variations in weight and dimensions, depending on the carrier selected. If you require any specific equipment for your cargo, please contact us.

General-purpose / Standard container

  • There are three sizes (20′, 40′, and 40′ High Cube) in feet.
  • These basic containers can hold any type of ordinary cargo, such as toys or electronic devices, which are often packaged in boxes on euro pallets.
  • The corner post and the top and bottom longitudinal rails are equipped with a variety of lashing devices.

The greatest choice for overheight goods, open top containers come in two sizes (in feet):

20′ and 40′. They have a detachable tarpaulin.
You can load from the door side or the top side.

Further special containers

Platform container

This platform container comes in two sizes (in feet):

20′ and 40′. It lacks side and end walls.
When using a flat rack or open top container is not an option, this is the perfect choice for large and heavy goods.

Ventilated container

  • 1 size (in feet): 20′
  • Especially for cargo that needs ventilation, like the transport of cacao beans or coffee beans

Hardtop container

  • 3 sizes (in feet): 20′ / 40′ / 40′ High Cube
  • Equipped with a removable steel roof
  • Loading through the roof opening and the doorway
  • Ideal for heavy loads that need to be loaded through the roof or doors using a forklift

Insulated container

  • 2 sizes (in feet): 20′ or 40′
  • These containers do not have their own cooling facility
  • The cooling/heating is supplied by an on-board Conair plant, by the terminal, or by a “clip-on” reefer unit

Flexi Tank container

  • 1 size (in feet): 20′
  • They are one of the most effective transportation methods for bulk cargo
  • Especially designed for the transport of liquid food, e.g., alcohols, fruit juices, and edible oils
